Before the First Class
Conceptual Thinking
This design is to produce three black and white 2D designs, each
expressing one of the primary colours, and produce a 3D model in response to
each of the 2D designs. The aim of this project are to explore space and form
in 2D and 3D, develop skills in visual presentation, critical and conceptual
thinking. Firstly, I use curved line and rhythm arrangement to shows the
movement of yellow. Then, the enthusiasm of red was presented by explosion
shape, additionally, focal point gives a very strong feeling. Lastly, I use
intersected line with different thickness to reflect the peace of blue, and I think
the Mobius Ring is quite suitable for this.
HohBoh
HohBoh is a minimalist house located in
Saitama, Japan, designed by +S Architect. The site is located in a residential
area in the suburb of Saitama New Urban Center. Old existing roads were laid
out unsystematically, and housing lots facing these roads have irregular
shapes. Individual houses stand in a kind of echelon-formation to make the best
of the irregular-shaped properties, and as a result its exterior walls are
divided into small portions, creating small intimate scales in the streetscape.
This site is located at the edge of such residential district.
